Whether this is your first time searching for a home away from home, or you are an old pro at finding housing, here are some tips as you begin your move to Atlanta:

  1. Here at Candler, we have many resources available to help you plan your move to Atlanta. Check out our Affording Seminary Page for information about the cost of attendance, employment opportunities, and information about our financial literacy program, Faith and Finance.
  2. Once you’re admitted schedule some time to meet with Tammy Lane, Candler’s Associate Director of Financial Aid and Admissions. As part of the Faith and Finance Program, Tammy will meet with you individually to get to know you and discuss your three-year plan for financing seminary. These 30-minue meetings are called Money Talks and are hosted during the summer before and throughout your first semester. You will discuss areas according to you needs, whether it be external scholarships, employment, or budgeting, these talks are designed to help you make smart financial decisions and set you up for success as you begin your seminary journey.
  3. Be sure to register for upcoming housing information sessions! During these sessions, you will hear from current students about their housing search experience, learn more about housing opportunities, and have your questions answered by our housing coordinator. To sign up for an upcoming sessions, check out the Candler Connect calendar.
  4. Once you’ve found your new home, be sure to confirm your housing status via the Incoming Student Portal and be on the lookout for more information from Candler’s Office of Student Life.
