In their own words

L’Arche Friendship Community seeks to build relationships and share life and faith across differences in ability. We regularly share meals and host events alongside L’Arche Atlanta, a nonprofit residential community where adults with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities live together in intentional community. We aim to embody the spirit of friendship amongst ourselves and L’Arche Atlanta, but also throughout the Candler community through creating spaces for deepening relationships and places of welcome.

Logistics

L’Arche Friendship Community is located in a five-bedroom, two-bath house with an upstairs and downstairs kitchen and living area.  There can be up to 5 members in L’Arche Friendship Community. This residence is located about 1.8 miles from Candler (40 minute walk) and is located near public transportation (5 minute walk), including the Emory shuttle (7 minute walk). Drive time without traffic is 10 minutes.

The total rent is around $3,350 monthly (not including utilities). Per room rent based on the number of residents (5 maximum) is between $670-$850.

Rental rates are not set by Candler and therefore all rental amounts are subject to change based on the decision of the property owner. Per room rates are subject to change based on the number of students in the house and the relative size of individual rooms.
