Candler School of Theology will host spring convocation on Tuesday, January 16 at 11:05 a.m. in Cannon Chapel and online to celebrate the start of the spring 2024 semester.
Candler Dean Jan Love will give the convocation address, based on Psalm 62:5-12. This will be Love’s last Convocation as dean; she will step down from the role at the end of this academic year after 17 years of leading the school.
In addition, two faculty members will be installed in named professorships, academia’s highest recognition for scholarly achievement and distinction:
- Jennifer Ayres as L. Bevel Jones III Professor of Religious Education
- Kendall Soulen as Bishop Mack B. and Rose Stokes Professor of Systematic Theology
