Black Seminarians Day

Candler School of Theology is delighted to invite you to our annual Black Seminarians Day (BSD) on October 6, 2026! This year’s theme, “The Time is Now,” reflects on the responsibility each generation carries to respond faithfully to the needs of its time.

Join us for a special campus tour highlighting Black excellence at Candler and Emory, ask questions of our world-renowned faculty during a class visit, and enjoy a worship service featuring the Reverend Natosha Reid Rice as distinguished guest preacher.

The Rev. Reid Rice serves as the Minister for Public Life at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Georgia and as the Global Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer for Habitat for Humanity International. She is also the founder of Fresh Rain for Life Ministries. Natosha currently serves on the boards of the global Harvard Alumni Association as an Elected Director, the Atlanta Community Foodbank, the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, and Invest Atlanta’s Atlanta Emerging Markets, Inc.

Before joining All Saints’, Natosha served as the Associate Pastor for Women’s Ministries at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. Her ordination was in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and she received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A. in Government with honors from Harvard/Radcliffe College. Prior to joining Habitat, she practiced law in the commercial real estate practices of Alston & Bird LLP, in Atlanta, and at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison in New York City. She is married to her husband Corey and they have three children Kayla, Malachi and Caleb.
