Four Candler alumni have been awarded 2025 Doctoral Fellowships from the Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE), recognized for their work in advancing research and leadership in theology, religion, and biblical studies.
Jazzy Johnson 22T 28G (Emory University), Stephanie Milton 17T (University of California Davis), Ebo Quainoo 17T 18T (Princeton Theological Seminary), and Kyle Stevenson 18T (Fordham University) are four of 15 doctoral students selected across 12 institutions. The fellowship includes a living stipend to support the students’ dissertation phase of their academic journey.
As part of the award, Fellows will have the opportunity to attend the 2025 FTE Forum for Theological Educators, held November 19-21, in Boston, Massachusetts, prior to the annual meetings of the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature. The Forum will provide opportunities for networking, professional development, vocational exploration and mentoring.
FTE developed these doctoral initiatives in 1954 to help accelerate the completion of doctoral degrees among students of color and to foster diversity across the academy in North America.
