Class Notes

Mr. Tyler Askew 14T has been named International Student and Scholar Advisor for the Office of International Student and Scholar Services Department at Emory University.

The Rev. Nathan Godley 73T has joined the Board of Directors of American Traditions Vocal Competition in Savannah, Georgia.

The Rev. Louis W. Grettenberger 87T became the new senior pastor at United Methodist Church of the Dunes in Grand Haven, Michigan.

The Rev. Kevin Matthew Krist 96T is the new pastor at Heritage United Methodist Church in Enterprise, Alabama.

The Rev. Michelle McKinnon-Young 90T has been called to serve as the new lead pastor at Lake Oswego United Methodist Church in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

The Rev. Matt Miofsky 02T has debuted a new book, Fail: What to Do When Thing Go Wrong. He is also the founding pastor of The Gathering, a United Methodist Church with four locations throughout the St. Louis, Missouri area.

The Rev. Dr. Lance Moore 87T 95T has authored his seventh book, End of the World Propheteers.

Ms. Ashley M. Wilcox 16T has been named Pastor of the Church of Mary Magdalene in Decatur, Georgia.

Mr. Sunggu (Paul) Yang 09T is now an assistant professor of Christian ministries at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon.

In Memoriam

The Rev. Charles Mikel Benson 94T passed away August 9, 2017. He was ordained as an elder by The United Methodist Church in 1997 in the South Georgia Conference.

The Rev. Dewey Dark Jr. 56T died on August 17, 2017. He served for 40 years as a United Methodist minister in the North Arkansas Conference.

The Rev. Dr. Paul Featherston Douglass 57T died Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was an ordained minister of The United Methodist Church and was active in the Memphis Conference.

The Rev. John H. Harper 73T passed away on April 1, 2017.

Mr. Roland Hartley Jr.96T passed away December 27, 2016.

Dr. James E. Hunter III 59T 60T 75T died on July 30, 2017. In 40 years of service in the South Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church, Dr. Hunter ministered to five churches, representing small and rural, suburban, and large urban communities. Among many other pursuits, he was instrumental in developing United Ministries and the Triune Mercy Center.

The Rev. Perry Sandifer 74T died on July 16, 2017. He served as minister in The United Methodist Church for 25 years.
