William “Bill” Green, Jr. 92T, the current U.S. Army deputy chief of chaplains, spoke at Rock Island Arsenal’s National Prayer Breakfast event on February 2.
LeRhonda Manigault-Bryant 02T has been hired as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s fourth director of the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History. Read more.
Sarah Werner 10T has been hired as a climate justice intern for the Mennonite Church USA, which is seeking to emphasize creation care as a priority within the denomination. Werner will be working to plan a Youth and Young Adult Climate Summit, an event that will be held this summer in conjunction with the denomination’s annual conference. Read more.
Tyler Sit 14T and Alisha Gordon 15T have been selected as two of four winners of Wesleyan Impact Partners' Tom Locke Innovative Leader Award for 2023, which "lifts up the work of spiritual entrepreneurs who envision new ways to serve their mission field and inspire others to join them in growing the impact of the church and nourishing their communities." Sit is founder of New City Church in Minneapolis and co-founder of Intersect Planting Network. Gordon is founder and executive director of The Current Project, a nonprofit focused on supporting the wellbeing of Black single mothers. Read more.
Keith Corprew 20T won the 2022 Fulbright Trinity Laban Postgraduate Award in Music and Dance, specializing in dance. He reflected on his favorite moments as a Fulbright so far and how Candler prepared him for the experience in this recent Q&A.
