A new book by the Rev. Larry J. Daniel 72T, “Conquered: Why the Army of Tennessee Failed,” will be published on May 20, 2019.

The Rev. Richard Mosson Weinberg 17T, currently serving as associate rector of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, in Washington, D.C., has been elected to stay on as priest-in-charge effective March 1.

Professor Sarah Gerwig-Moore 02L 02T has been named associate dean for academic affairs at Mercer University School of Law beginning July 1.

The Rev. Kimberly S. Jackson 09T received a resolution of commendation from the Georgia State House of Representatives on February 14, 2018. The resolution commends Jackson for her tireless efforts on behalf of the disenfranchised, disenchanted, and dispossessed.

Meredyth Fleisher 14T married James W.H. Howard 16G on October 15, 2015. Their son, Ledger Gray Howard, was born on May 18, 2018.

The Rev. Darryl N. Person, USN 89T has been named the ninth pastor of Chicago’s historic Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.

In Memoriam

The Rev. Charles D. Hazel 62T passed away on February 17, 2019. He was a Methodist minister in the North Alabama Conference for 45 years.

The Rev. Samuel Ray Clark 55T passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018.

The Rev. Albert F. Whelchel 58T passed away on January 9, 2019. He and his wife of 41 years served in the North Georgia and Red Bird Mission Conferences of The United Methodist Church, as well as in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Rev. John (Jack) Emmett Ferrell Jr. 55T passed away on March 3, 2019. Beginning in 1955, he enjoyed a long career as a minister in The United Methodist Church, serving many churches in West Virginia.
