Put a reminder in your calendar, a note in your phone, or a post-it on your monitor: the annual Emory Day of Giving is coming up on March 30-31! This 36-hour online giving event rallies the Emory community far and wide to join together in supporting the school and empowers individuals to give to the specific parts of Emory that inspire them—like Candler.

Emory Day of Giving kicks off at 6 a.m. (EDT) Wednesday, March 30, and continues through 6 p.m. (EDT) Thursday, March 31. Anyone can participate, and the aim is to engage students, alumni, parents, and friends all over the world in support of Emory. And new this year: You can make your gift early and still have it count for Day of Giving!

Making a gift to Candler on Day of Giving means you are supporting the next generation of Christian leaders called to transform the world. Whatever their path—from church service to nonprofit work to advocacy—your gift helps make their ministry possible.

On Day of Giving, you can direct your gift to any of these funds to benefit Candler:

Theology School Fund for Excellence: Support Candler’s whole mission to educate faithful and creative leaders for the church’s ministries throughout the world.

Master of Divinity Scholarship Fund: Help provide scholarship support to students, so Candler graduates can follow God’s call wherever it leads, without the worry of paying off school loans.

Erskine-Smith-Moseley Scholarship Endowment: Provide students of Candler’s Black Church Studies Program with valuable scholarships and stipends to support their theological education.

Youth Theological Initiative (YTI) Program: Support programs that equip high school students with theological tools that empower them to change the world.

Student Emergency Fund: Assist students experiencing financial hardship, such as unexpected housing and food insecurity.

Pitts Theology Library Gift Fund: Help Pitts grow its world-renowned collections and maximize the impact these materials have on students and scholars at Emory and around the world.

Special gift matches and challenges will occur throughout Day of Giving, amplifying individual gifts. For instance, gifts to YTI, the Student Emergency Fund and the Theology School Fund for Excellence will be doubled up to $5,000, $2,000 and $3,000 respectively, thanks to generous matching donors. Leaderboards for most dollars raised and most donors will rank Emory’s schools and units, and additional bonus gifts will be unlocked for those who end the event in the top few spots.
