Candler faculty have certainly not let the pandemic slow them down this spring. Here’s a quick round up of news, media, and ways to hear from just a few of our talented professors:
- Dean Jan Love has announced that Roger Nam of Portland Seminary at George Fox University and Joel Kemp of the University of Scranton will join Candler’s faculty in fall 2020, the first hires of a successful cluster search Candler undertook this year in the area of biblical studies.
- Three faculty members recently published new books: Laney Professor of Moral Leadership Robert Franklin (Moral Leadership: Integrity, Courage, Imagination), Dean’s Professor of Systematic Theology Kwok Pui Lan (editor of Asian and Asian American Women in Theology and Religion: Embodying Knowledge), and Assistant Professor of History of Religions and Multifaith Relations Deanna Ferree Womack (Neighbors: Christians and Muslims Building Community).
- You can also hear from Kwok in the latest episode of the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion’s podcast series “Dialogue on Teaching.”
- Theologian-in-Residence Don Saliers is featured on episode 9 of The Weight Podcast as he discusses “Reconnecting Liturgy and Life” during the pandemic.
