Candler Named to 'Seminaries that Change the World' for Fourth Time
Candler School of Theology has been named for the fourth time to the Center for Faith and Service’s annual list of “Seminaries that Change the World” (STCTW). Candler was among 18 institutions honored in the inaugural STCTW list in 2013, and has been included ever since. The Center published this year’s list of 31 seminaries on September 15.
STCTW was developed by the Center’s executive director Wayne Meisel four years ago to act as a resource for service-minded young adults seeking ways to grow spiritually, highlighting a select group of seminaries offering innovative courses, programs, and opportunities for students to connect their faith and service.
“For justice-minded individuals who are in it for the long haul, seminaries and divinity schools offer some of the most exciting, innovative and world-changing opportunities around,” Meisel says.
This year’s list emphasizes Candler’s many dual degree options that allow students to combine a Master of Divinity or a Master of Theological Studies degree with bioethics, business, development practice, law, public health, or social work degrees at Emory University and other institutions.
