Daniel, Elkins to Join Music Staff
With incoming Assistant Dean of Worship and Music and Assistant Professor in the Practice of Worship Khalia J. Williams set to begin in June, Dean Jan Love has announced two more appointments to Candler’s worship and music staff.
David Daniel will serve part time as Director of Chapel Music. In this role, Daniel will organize musicians for all liturgical services, provide leadership to all music ensembles and choirs, and be responsible for congregational music in worship services. He will also serve as Assistant Professor in the Practice of Music Ministry. Randy Elkins will serve as chapel organist for Candler’s regular worship services. Neither are new to worship at Candler, having both worked with retiring Associate Dean of Worship and Music Barbara Day Miller.
Daniel and Elkins will join with Williams to create, Love says, “a terrific team to insure that Candler’s worship and music program remain vibrant, strong, and a crucial component of our community life.”
