Ed Phillips, associate professor of worship and liturgical theology and coordinator of the initiative in religious practices and practical theology, was quoted in a United Methodist News Service article discussing the ongoing debate over the practice of virtual communion.
“If you invite me to dinner, you can’t do that virtually,” [Phillips] said during the discussion. “If you bring me a hot dish, you can’t do that online.”
