ATLAS Database Gives Alumni a World of Content

ATLAS for Alumni offers access to the ATLASerials® database, an online full-text collection of major religion and theology journals used by libraries, librarians, religion scholars, theologians and clergy. ATLAS provides coverage of more than 230 journals containing more than 440,000 records.
Access to ATLAS is free for Candler alumni and easy to obtain. Those interested can register with Candler’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations by calling 404.727.6352. You’ll receive a user name and password, which can then be used to access ATLAS through this portal.
This electronic collection of journals plus bibliographic citations, featuring PDFs, with searchable texts of articles and reviews is updated quarterly. ATLAS covers the following subject areas: Bible, archaeology, and antiquities; human culture and society; church history, mission, and ecumenism; pastoral ministry; world religions and religious studies; theology, philosophy and ethics.
ATLAS also can be used in tandem with TextWeek.com, a useful resource that directly ties sermon content to its source—conveniently accessible through ATLAS.
ATLAS for Alumni is far from the only benefit available to Candler graduates. “When they obtain an alumni card, all Candler alumni can check out books from Pitts,” says Tracy Iwaskow, head of public services & periodicals librarian for Pitts. “Alumni can also use our reference service and attend our Wednesday workshops.”
Candler alumni are encouraged to contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 404.272.6352 if they have questions about ATLAS or any other alumni benefits.
