'Candler Connection' is Online!
Candler Connection, the magazine for alumni and friends of Candler School of Theology, is back after a three-year hiatus and is now making its way toward mailboxes across the country and the world. The entire magazine is also available online at http://candler.emory.edu/news/connection/index.cfm.
There are several options for reading the magazine online. Prefer to send the link to a certain story to a friend? Each article has its own web page, so you can post your favorite story on Facebook or email it to colleagues. Would you rather “flip” through the magazine digitally? Follow the link to our digital version, powered by Issuu. And if you’re the kind of person who enjoys downloading PDFs, then you’ll be happy to see that we have a link to that format as well.
No matter which way you choose to read Connection, there’s plenty in the magazine to keep you busy. The Summer 2012 issue is dedicated to the topic of reading. It features an adapted convocation address from Carol Newsom on reading as a spiritual practice, a look at how a Contextual Education assignment about literacy became so much more, and an essay on lectio divina, an ancient way of praying Scripture that the Benedictines call “listening with the ear of one’s heart.” Plus, Connection includes the latest news about Candler and its faculty, students and alumni.
Candler Connection is published twice a year by Candler’s Office of Communications and is distributed free to all alumni and other friends of the school.
