Candler Gears Up for Commencement
On Monday, May 14, the graduating class of Candler School of Theology will line up with students from all of Emory’s graduate and undergraduate programs for the 167th commencement exercises of Emory University. Emory’s president, James W. Wagner, will preside and confer degrees at the ceremony on the quadrangle, which begins at 8 a.m.
Following the all-schools event, Candler students will proceed directly to Glenn Memorial Auditorium, where Dean Jan Love will present diplomas in a ceremony that begins at 9:45 a.m. This year, Candler will grant more than 100 degrees.
Candler graduates and their families and friends are then invited to a commencement lunch in the Candler School of Theology building.
Should a light rain fall on Monday morning, all activities will proceed as planned. In the event of severe weather, however, the ceremony on the quadrangle will be canceled and Candler’s diploma ceremony in Glenn Memorial Auditorium will begin at 9:00 a.m. Information on inclement weather schedules will be available on Monday morning on Emory’s website, Candler’s website, and by phone, at 404.727.1234.
