Female Theologians to Honor Elisabeth Moltmann-Wendel's Work on October 28
Theologian Elisabeth Moltmann-Wendel has canceled her Oct. 28 visit to Candler School of Theology due to illness. However, Candler Professor Karen Scheib will deliver Moltmann-Wendel’s address, and a panel honoring the body of the feminist theologian’s work will proceed as planned.
The panel is composed of Candler's Joy McDougall, associate professor of systematic theology; Michelle Gonzalez Maldonado, associate professor of religious studies at the University of Miami; and Cynthia Rigby, W.C. Brown Professor of Theology at the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Andrea C. White, assistant professor of theology and culture at Candler School of Theology, will moderate.
The event, sponsored by Candler’s Women, Theology, and Ministry (WTM) program, takes place in Candler room 102 and begins with a lunch reception at 11 a.m., followed by a reading of Moltmann-Wendel’s address at noon. After a short break, the panel will convene. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
