NICFACandler School of Theology at Emory University will offer the National Institute in Church Finance and Administration (NICFA) courses during the month of June.

NICFA consists of four weeklong seminars offering specialized training and enrichment for church administrators, business managers, financial secretaries, pastors, and others responsible for administration in local church congregations, church agencies and institutions. The seminars will be held on the Emory University campus in Atlanta.

Successful completion of the NICFA seminars and a final project allows participants to apply for status as a Certified Church Administrator (CCA) through the National Association of Church Business Administration, an inter-denominational professional organization. NICFA also meets the criteria for professional business administrator certification in The United Methodist Church and several other denominations.

Seminar I A, May 31–June 3, 2011. Topics: Property Management; Theology of Stewardship; Information Management; Communication and Marketing; United Methodist Polity and Theology

Seminar I B, June 6–10, 2011. Topics: Personnel/Human Resource Management; Office Management; Staff Development; Congregational Leadership

Seminar II A, June 13–17, 2011. Topics: Legal & Tax Matters; Theology & Ethics of Church Administration; Christian Perspectives & Theology of Church

Seminar II B, June 20–24, 2011. Topics: Strategic Planning; Financial Management; Stewardship of Self & Self Care

NICFA seminars are intentionally ecumenical in course content, teaching approach and enrollment. Attendance is open to persons from all denominations. Housing for out-of-town guests will be provided by the Emory Inn at a reduced rate.
