As the spring semester begins, Pitts Theology Library offers a fresh lineup of workshops for Candler students and the Emory community. Known as “Weekly Workshops,” the one-hour presentations by library staff members will be held twice a week in Room 250 of the Rita Anne Rollins Building (unless otherwise noted) from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on a variety of topics meant to help students, faculty, and community members learn the skills and tools of research.

Zotero Introduction

This workshop will introduce you to the citation management tool Zotero, which many Candler students and faculty use to keep track of resources, take notes, and generate citations. This workshop is appropriate if you have not yet used Zotero, or need a refresher in the basic features.
Advanced Zotero

Zotero is a powerful tool for managing resources and citations. In this advanced Zotero workshop, we will look at ways you can greatly expand the functionality of Zotero with only a few clicks. By installing personalized plugins, you can make Zotero work better to meet your individual research needs. Please bring a laptop with Zotero installed.

This workshop will explain the mechanics of backing up your data—not just your schoolwork, but also your photos and private information. You will learn the basics of Box and One Drive, both of which are supported through Emory. We will also discuss your options for a physical backup, like external hard drives and smaller flash drives. Perhaps most importantly, we will identify saving and storage habits to make sure all your hard work is saved somewhere safe. Please bring a laptop.
