Candler Black Excellence: Jehu Hanciles on Immigration, Migration and Christianity

Jehu J. Hanciles, D.W. and Ruth Brooks Professor of World Christianity and director of Candler’s World Christianity program, has received wide acclaim and multiple honors for his recent book, Migration and the Making of Global Christianity (2021, Eerdmans). It won Christianity Today’s 2022 Book of the Year Award in the Missions & Global Church category. CT’s Book of the Year awards honor the books most likely to shape evangelical life, thought, and culture. Migration was also named to Choice’s 2021 Outstanding Academic Titles list. Choice is a publishing unit of the Association of College and Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association. And most recently, the book was chosen for a list of “Ten Outstanding Books in Mission Studies, Intercultural Theology, and World Christianity for 2021” published by the International Bulletin of Mission Research.
