Dr. Ellison and a student

Students

Candler students and alumni are an incredibly gifted and diverse group of people who live out their calls in many ways. Our goal is to partner and support students as they move forward to meet their vocational and professional goals.

Here’s how we do it:

RESOURCES

We have vocational and professional development resources for students to use at any time, including:

  • Vocational Discernment Resources
  • Resume and Cover Letter Tools
  • Interview Preparation
  • Job Search Strategy
  • Denominational Resources
  • Exploratory Resources for Vocations Outside of Traditional Ministry
  • Preparing for a PhD

Current students can go to CANVAS to see what’s available, and incoming students can check out our resources HERE.

JOB POSTINGS

Candler's job board includes paid part-time and full-time opportunities for Candler students, including on campus jobs at Candler and jobs in churches, nonprofits, educational organizations, and hospitals, as well as unpaid CPE opportunities and positions that meet the requirements for Con Ed II sites.

PROGRAMS

Candler also offers a multitude of professional development programs and partners with student groups to help prepare students to reach their goals.

Current students can check the Announcements page on Canvas for updates.

ONE-ON-ONE APPOINTMENTS & OFFICE HOURS

In addition to postings, programming, and resources, one amazing resource available to our current students is our Director of Career Services! Students can have a 1-on-1 meeting each semester and can find her at Office Hours every week in the Office of Student Life.

RESUME AND COVER LETTER REVIEW

Resume and cover letter review are available to students throughout the school year! Students can submit their resumes, cover letters, and other application documents to be reviewed by our Academic Writing Tutors who are trained to help tailor and polish these documents, so our students can be successful in their job searches.
