Candler Career Services provides professional employment resources to our students and alumni, and connects employers with job seekers.
Candler’s commitment to helping students understand their call and the opportunities for living out that call starts well before a student makes an appointment with Career Services. In fact, vocational discernment and professional development are occurring all throughout a student’s time at Candler, shaped by coursework, Contextual Education and internship experiences, opportunities via the Office of Student Programming, faculty mentoring, and, of course, much prayer and reflection! It’s a collaborative effort among students, faculty, staff and peers across their time at Candler, so that when graduation nears, students know what gives them life, fire and passion. Once students are in touch with that, Career Services can then partner with them to help connect that passion with opportunities for employment, and guide them in developing the skills that are common to all job searches.
Candler students graduate to become church pastors, non-profit leaders, social workers, teachers and scholars, public advocates (and…the list goes on). Career Services facilitates connecting former students with one another, so they can share experiences and opportunities. And when alumni are trying to figure out the next step on the path towards fulfilling God’s call, Career Services can help in the job search.
