View, Discuss Reinhold Niebuhr Documentary on April 5
Candler’s Laney Legacy in Moral Leadership will host a screening of An American Conscience: The Reinhold Niebuhr Story on Wednesday, April 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library in Atlanta. View the film trailer. A panel discussion about Niebuhr’s life, legacy, and meaning in today’s world will follow the screening. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged to secure a seat. Register here.
Panelists will include Martin Doblmeier, the film’s director; Elizabeth M. Bounds, associate professor of Christian ethics at Candler; Raphael Warnock, senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta; and Shaun Casey, senior fellow at Georgetown University’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs. Mark Douglas, professor of Christian ethics at Columbia Theological Seminary, will moderate the discussion.
