Dr. Noel Leo Erskine, Professor of Theology and Ethics

Dr. Noel L. Erskine

Dr. Erskine's research interests include the historical and complex nature of black theology and pedagogy, the history and development of the black church,  Revivalism, Rastafarianism, Afro-Christianity in the Caribbean and the American South, and theological method in the work of James Cone, Karl Barth, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Martin Luther King Jr. An ordained Baptist minister, Dr. Erskine has been selected to serve as a corresponding member on the Baptist World Alliance's Mission, Evangelism and Theological Reflection (METR) Commission on Baptist Heritage and Identity from 2011-2015.
