New facilities are critical to Candler's mission. Your gifts to the building program will provide state-of-the-art facilities to support teaching, research, community life, and spiritual formation.
Phase II of Candler's building project will add the Wesley Teaching Chapel and a new home for the Pitts Theology Library, recognized as the premier theological library in North America. The second building will extend to Rudolph Courtyard, which will be expanded to provide an outdoor pavilion. The two buildings, to be connected by a glass-enclosed atrium, will enhance what is known as Emory's religion corridor on the Quadrangle. Along with the resources of Candler and the Center for Ethics, the corridor includes Cannon Chapel, Emory's Graduate Division of Religion, and the Department of Religion in Emory College of Arts and Sciences.
The cost of the two-phase building project is $58.5 million. Emory University is providing $28.5 million, while gifts from individuals, foundations, and churches are providing the balance. This generous support strengthens Candler's mission to educate faithful and creative leaders for the church's ministries in the world.
