Alabama-West Florida Foundation Scholarships
All of the following awards share the same deadlines and application contacts. They are awarded to United Methodist students from the Alabama-West Florida Conference preparing for full-time, ordained ministry in the Alabama-West Florida Conference. Students must be attending an accredited seminary recognized by the United Methodist Church.

Amount: Variable, depending on financial need and number of applicants
Description: Sanders Awards are for one academic year and must not exceed the actual cost of tuition and books.
Qualifications:
Third-year student
Age 32 or younger
Applicant must demonstrate clear intent to return to the Alabama-West Florida Conference in service as ordained United Methodist clergy
Rosa and Alto V. Lee Scholarship Fund
Amount: Variable, depending on financial need and number of applicants
Description: Scholarships available to United Methodist students.
Qualifications:
Applicant must demonstrate clear intent to return to the Alabama-West Florida Conference in service in ministry to the churches
Lester H. Spencer Ministerial Scholarship Fund
Amount: Up to $1,000
Description: Spencer Funds are distributed with due consideration given to both the need of the student and the evidence of exceptional promise and gifts for the ministry.
Qualifications:
Second or third-year student
Applicant must demonstrate clear intent to return to the Alabama-West Florida Conference in service as ordained United Methodist clergy
Rose Wimberly Spencer Memorial Trust
Amount: Variable, depending on financial need and number of applicants
Description: Scholarships available to United Methodist students including but not limited to those who plan a career in parish ministry
Qualifications:
Applicant must have demonstrated a clear intent to become an ordained United Methodist minister and to return for service within the bounds of the Alabama-West Florida Conference
Inez Turner Byrd Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $500
Description: Scholarships are given to students who have chosen to pursue a career of service that will provide for the mental, spiritual, and/or physical enhancement of society.
Qualifications:
Applicant's home residence must be within the bounds of the Alabama-West Florida Conference.
Maud Byrd Windham Scholarship
Amount: $500
Description: Award available to students with a chosen degree program in a church-related vocation, nursing, or medicine

Alabama-West Florida Annual Conference
Ministerial Education Fund
Deadline: August 1 for fall semester, January 1 for spring semester
Amount: $2,500 per semester
Description: Service loans available to students who are certified candidates for ministry in the Alabama-West Florida Annual Conference

Dauphin Way UMC Scholarship
Deadline: August 15 for fall; December 15 for spring
Amount: $3,000
Description: Dauphin Way UMC offers $3,000 per annum to students from Alabama West Florida at any United Methodist seminary and at Asbury Theological Seminary. On-line classes or other non-UM seminaries are not included in this program.

Jane Walker Scholarship
Deadline: May 10
Amount: $1,000
Description: Applicant should be a woman who affirms, represents, and advocates for women’s leadership in the church. Applicant must be accepted or enrolled in a United Methodist seminary approved by the University Senate or be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Christian Education at a University Senate approved United Methodist institution.Completed application (including essay) and two letters of recommendation from a pastor and a professor must be received in order to be eligible for consideration. Applicant should be an outstanding candidate for ministry or seeking a United Methodist church-related career. Applicant must be a resident of the Alabama-West Florida Conference and plan at the time of application to serve within the bounds of the conference.
