Admitted Student Checklist

Congratulations on your admission to Candler School of Theology! We are excited to welcome you to campus, and we’ve laid out the following steps to help you connect, commit and come to Candler.

Set up Your Online Accounts

Setting up your online accounts—OPUS and email—are critical steps in the process of becoming a Candler student. You will need access to both in order to register for classes, pay your deposit and receive important emails, among other things. Set up your online accounts.

Pay Your Deposit

Confirm your admission and intention to enroll by submitting the $100 deposit within two weeks of receiving your scholarship notification. Submit your deposit.

Complete a Criminal Background Check

A criminal background check is required of all students prior to enrollment. Complete a criminal background check.

Complete Haven Training

All incoming students are required to complete Haven training, as part of Emory’s comprehensive interpersonal violence prevention program. Through the interative online training, you will learn about preventing and responding to sexual assault, harassment, domestic violence and stalking in the Emory community. Learn more about Haven training.

Complete Stewards of Children Training

All students who will work with children, youth and other vulnerable populations through Contextual Education and ministerial internships must complete the "Stewards of Children" child sexual abuse prevention online training. Learn more about the Stewards of Children training.

Register for Class

Once you've completed steps two through five, you are ready to register.

Plan for Your Move

Prepare for your life at Candler—learn about new student orientation, determine your housing needs, sign up for insurance and find schools or daycare for your children. Plan for your move.
