Complete a Criminal Background Check

As a new student at Candler School of Theology, you are required to complete a criminal background check prior to enrolling. This requirement applies to all domestic students, as well as international students who have previously lived, worked, or studied in the United States for longer than three months.

Criminal background checks must be completed before an incoming student is cleared to register for classes. Students should therefore make every effort to complete this process by July 10th to ensure timely registration. Those who fail to complete a criminal background check by August 15th will not be permitted to enroll in the fall semester.

More detailed information regarding the criminal background check, as well as a link to begin the process, can be found on your admissions checklist in your Status Page. Once you have completed the criminal background check, the Admissions Office staff will automatically be notified of your progress and will update your checklist accordingly. This process takes up to five business days after completion of the background check, so please be patient as Admissions staff update your records.
