Registrar’s Office

The Candler Registrar’s Office maintains academic records and provides services for students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Services of the Candler Registrar’s Office:

  • Publishing class schedules and distributing the Catalog and Handbook
  • Facilitating registration and cross registration
  • Reporting grades and tracking degree progress
  • Providing enrollment verification for scholarship application purposes
  • Maintaining the academic calendar and exam schedule
  • Overseeing graduation requirements

The Candler registrar works in conjunction with the Emory University registrar, which is responsible for:

  • Issuing official transcripts and student information
  • Providing enrollment verification for things like insurance coverage, educational loans or deferments, and school or employment applications
  • Authorizing changes to personal information
  • Distributing diplomas

Prior to the start of the semester, the Candler registrar will update the registration schedule, indicating enrollment appointments, during which time you will use self-service registration through Emory’s student portal.

Entering students will find registration information specific to their degree program on the Admitted Student Portal.

Current and Upcoming Course Schedules

To register for a course at Candler, view the course schedule and then submit the cross registration form to the registrar at your home institution by August 1 (for Fall), December 1 (for Spring) and May 1 (for Summer). Do not contact instructors directly to be enrolled. You will be notified after the dates above if you have been approved to enroll in the course.

Please note: Visiting students interested in a course at Emory’s Graduate Division of Religion must follow the ARCHE policies and procedures.

Barnes and Noble is the campus bookstore at Emory University. The bookstore works with faculty members to ensure it has the textbooks you need in stock for each class, every semester. Fall book lists are available starting in mid-April. Spring book lists are available starting in mid-November. The book list is updated regularly prior to the start of the semester.
