For those not interested in seeking a degree or for those looking to strengthen their academic background in order to be admitted to a degree program, Candler offers the following opportunities for study.
Lifelong Learning: The Candler Foundry
The Candler Foundry offers theological explorations designed to help individuals grow in their biblical, theological, and spiritual knowledge. Its goal is to make theological education accessible outside of Candler’s formal degree programs and in formats that are wise, engaging, and relevant to broader audiences, including ordained clergy, laity of all denominations, and those just curious about faith. Course of Study

Auditing
Through the non-student auditing program, laity and clergy may sit in on up to two courses per semester. Learn more.

Basic Graduate Theological Studies
All deacons are required to complete the Basic Graduate Theological Studies in the Christian Faith. These may be completed as part of a theological degree or in addition to a Masters Degree and/or certification in a specialized area of ministry. All theological education must be at a seminary on the University Senate approved list. Get more information from the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.
