Meeting the Five Areas of Ministry

Administration: The student will have the opportunity to learn about the routine office functions that a minister may be responsible for including, but not limited to, communications, marketing of the church, church membership, evangelism, bookeeping, staffing, payroll and payroll taxes, budgeting, financial reporting and general office functions.

Liturgy (Worship and Preaching): The student will have the opportunity to lead liturgy each week, preach once a month, have exegesis time and work collaboratively in theological elements of worship. The student will be given the opportunity to hone his or her preaching, sermon preparation, liturgical cycle and Lord's Supper historical knowledge.

Mission and Outreach: The student will be able to interface with the missions team, assisting in mission work and communications.

Pastoral Calling and Congregational Care: Both of these areas will be developed through the student's active participation with clergy and the congregational activities including visitation with those in assisted living and shut-ins.

Teaching: The student will have time for exegetical sermon preparation, collaborative work with the pastor and sermon development.
