Powder Springs First UMC

The church's mission is to share God's love and transform lives.

Powder Springs First UMC is a vibrant and established congregation in a small town located in suburban Cobb County. The church has a rich history dating back to 1838 when the church was first established. Originally worship was held in a log cabin but was later moved over to a framed building which stood until 1864. During the Civil War, Federal troops occupied the church and the building was eventually destroyed by fire. It was during this period that the congregation met at the Presbyterian church. Finally in 1872 the Methodists constructed a new building with the Springville Masonic Lodge. In 1924 a new building was constructed and still stands today.

Powder Springs offers a truly welcoming environment for all people, with opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth as well as dynamic worship that cultivates a relationship with Jesus Christ. The congregation includes many Powder Springs residents, but is expanding to the broader Cobb County community.
