Lawrenceville Road UMC

Lawrenceville's mission is to welcome, make and empower disciples for spiritual growth and Christian service.

Lawrenceville Road UMC is a well-established, socio-religious structure in the Tucker area. The church is a supportive, progressive, spiritually mature, mid-sized congregation UMC in a team ministry model. The membership consists primarily of long-time members who have raised their families in this church and who still live in the area. New members report they were most attracted by LRUMC’s friendly members, pastor and staff, the preaching and traditional worship in Sunday services. There is also a core group of young adults (30-40s) who are invested in the life of LRUMC and are interested in continuing to grow the church's young adult membership. The local community has become more ethnically and culturally diverse, and Lawrenceville Road UMC is striving to reach out to its community. The church's children and youth come from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds. The children and youth ministries are small, but active and growing.

Unique Opportunities in Ministry

The interns at this site have the opportunity to serve as Associate Pastor. Interns will preach, teach and be part of a growing church. The Con Ed II student will receive supervision, support and guidance directly from the senior pastor, and indirectly from the Staff-Parish Relations Committee, based on a team ministry model.
