Directions to Candler
Candler is on Emory's main campus, located a few miles from downtown Atlanta in the Druid Hills neighborhood, between the Virginia Highland neighborhood and the small city of Decatur.
The Haygood-Hopkins Memorial Gateway, the traditional main entrance to campus, overlooks the intersection of North Decatur and Oxford roads at Emory Village.
Visitor parking is conveniently located around campus. If you are visiting the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, please park in thePeavine Visitor Parking Lot (street address: 27 Eagle Row, Atlanta, GA). This is the closest lot to our building and one for which we can validate parking.
From Interstate 20 Eastbound
Take exit 60 B for US-23/Moreland Ave. SE and turn right on Moreland Ave. Drive approximately 2 miles, at which point Moreland Ave. changes into Briarcliff Rd., after it crosses Ponce de Leon Ave. Continue on Briarcliff Rd. for approximately 1.5 miles, then turn right on North Decatur Rd. Follow North Decatur Rd. one mile to the traffic roundabout at Emory Village. At the roundabout, take the fourth exit onto Oxford Rd. Turn right at the first street onto Eagle Row and enter the campus. Turn left at the second stop sign, into the Peavine Visitors’ Lot.
Once you are parked, walk back towards the gatehouse and cross Eagle Row, onto Dickey Drive. Continue past the psychology (PAIS) and chemistry (Emerson Hall) buildings to Candler School of Theology, housed in the Rita Anne Rollins building.

From Interstate 20 Westbound

Take exit 248 C for Freedom Parkway toward GA-10 E/Carter Center. Continue on GA-10 E/Freedom Pkwy NE for 1.6 miles, and then turn right onto US-278 E/Ponce de Leon Ave. NE. Drive approximately one mile and then turn left on Briarcliff Rd. NE. Travel approximately 2 miles on Briarcliff Rd., and then turn right onto North Decatur Rd. From Interstate 85 North and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
The airport is located in the southwest section of the city, approximately 25 minutes from the Emory University campus. Visitors driving from the airport should take I-85 North.
From I-85 North, take exit 248 C for Freedom Parkway toward GA-10E/Carter Center. Continue on GA-10 E/Freedom Pkwy NE for 1.6 miles, and then turn right onto US-278 E/Ponce de Leon Ave. NE. From Interstate 85 South
From I-85 South, take exit 91 toward US-23 S/Georgia-155/Clairmont Rd./Decatur. At the end of the exit ramp, use one of the two left-hand lanes to turn left onto US-23 S/Clairmont Rd. Drive approximately 4 miles to North Decatur Rd. and turn right. Follow North Decatur Rd. approximately one mile to the traffic roundabout at Emory Village. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Oxford Rd. Turn right at the first street onto Eagle Row and enter the campus. Turn left at the second stop sign, into the Peavine Visitors’ Lot.

Atlanta's mass transit system is MARTA, which operates a coordinated system of bus and train lines around much of the Atlanta area. The Emory campus is accessible from the Lindbergh MARTA station, and from the Inman Park station via the #6-Emory bus, or from the Arts Center station and the Avondale station on the #36-North Decatur bus. Also, the #245 "Blue Flyer" Kensington/Emory express bus serves Emory from the Lindbergh and Kensington stations. Coming from the airport, take any train northbound to the Lindbergh MARTA station, and take the #6-Emory bus to the Emory campus.
Ask the bus driver to stop in Emory Village near the main entrance to Emory. Walk through the Haygood-Hopkins Memorial Gateway (pictured above) and continue straight on Dowman Drive. At the roundabout, keep left to stay on Downman Drive. Take the walkway just past the first building on your right (the Administration Building) and keep left toward the back of White Hall. Walk across the plaza to the Candler School of Theology building. This entrance lets in you on the third floor.

A taxi ride from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Candler will cost $35-$45 and will take approximately 25 minutes with normal traffic. Allow at least an hour during weekday rush hour—7:00 am until 9:00 am and 3:30 pm until 7:00 pm.
Atlanta Airport Superior Shuttle & Limo provides shuttle service to and from the Atlanta airport. Reservations are required ahead of time by calling 770.457.4794 or by visiting http://www.superiorshuttleandlimo.com. The cost is approximately $30 one way, with lower fares depending on your pick-up/drop-off location.
Ask the driver to take you to the Candler School of Theology at 1531 Dickey Drive, Atlanta, GA 30322.
Rideshare services have a specific pickup location at the Atlanta airport (Hartsfield Jackson International). Travelers should follow the rideshare signs to the Uber/Lyft Rideshare Pickup Zone near the Terminal North economy lot. The pickup area is about a five-minute walk from the terminal.
