The purpose of the Oral History Project is to engage students, alumi, and community leaders in the lives of women who have the potential to inspire and guide, to reveal the complex interplay of religion and culture in human life, to uncover realities of Christian tradition as embodied in diverse lives and contexts, and to raise theological and existential questions for further reflection. The Oral History Project has been funded since 2003 through generous grants from the Wabash Center, which have supported a major expansion of the Project in relation to teaching. Candler School of Theology, through the Women in Theology and Ministry Program, has provided other funding and moral support through the six-year history of the Project.
