Candler's program of education for ministry depends on the abiding generosity of alumni and friends. Annual Fund gifts are defined as repeatable and unrestricted.
These contributions:
Although Emory as a university and Candler as a constituent school of the university have robust endowments, those endowments are both severely restricted and subject to the vagaries of the market economy. Annual Fund gifts, as unrestricted and discretionary funds, not only provide stability within a fluctuating economy but also allow Candler to direct resources to the place where they are needed most.
Your participation is important, regardless of the dollar amount. Candler operates on the Emory University fiscal year, from September 1 through August 31. Our goal for the Annual Fund in FY2007-2008 is $325,000.
Candler also relies on support outside of the Annual Fund. Restricted gifts, such as scholarship endowments, provide a lasting resource for future Candler students and for the future of the church.
Financial support of the school conveys a spirit of confidence, friendship, and appreciation for the mission and community of Candler School of Theology.
