New Student Registration

New MDiv and MTS students entering Fall 2008 are able to register beginning June 17th, and we ask that you complete registration by July 1st. New ThD and ThM students will register during Orientation week.  Please keep in mind that you will be able to make changes through the drop/add period (1st week of class), so it is possible to make changes to your schedule later.  Registration is through OPUS, the same system you have been using throughout the Admissions process and will continue to use throughout your time at Emory University.

Registration information for both new and continuing students at Candler School of Theology is available through a system called Blackboard.  Blackboard is the online interactive setting used by Emory for classes and organizations.  Many instructors use Blackboard to post course materials, so it’s good to become familiar with it early. 

How to log-in to Blackboard and access the “Candler Registrar” site:

  1. Go to http://classes.emory.edu/
  2. On the right-hand side of the page, in the “Login here” box, enter the OPUS username and password you have been using throughout the Admissions process.  If you forgot your username and password or if you never received it, go to:  www.app.emory.edu/acm/getpassword.cfm to obtain your username and password.
  3. Click “Login”
  4. Under “My Organizations” you will see “Candler Registrar” listed under “Organizations in which you are participating”.  If you do not see “Candler Registrar” listed, please email candlerregistrar@listserv.cc.emory.edu
  5. Click on “Candler Registrar”.  This will take you to the site.
  6. On the left-hand menu of the site, click on “New Students”. 
  7. Click on the program that applies to you to begin the registration process.

Email us at candlerregistrar@listserv.cc.emory.edu if you have any questions throughout the registration process.  Be sure to include your name, program, and seven digit student/EMPL ID# in your email.
