Dr. White specializes in
constructive Christian
theology and womanist
theology, with research
interests especially in
the doctrine of God,
theology of otherness,
womanist perspectives on theological
anthropology, postmodern theories of
alterity, and the relationship between
philosophy and theology. Her dissertation,
Alterity and the Divine-Human
Relation in Karl Barth and Paul Ricoeur,
examines Barth’s claim of radical divine
alterity, along with his theory of language
and intersubjectivity, in light of Ricoeur’s
hermeneutics and phenomenology of the
self. She is an ordained American Baptist
minister.
